From a city notorious for it’s gun violence and the appropriation of the Lyn Collins’ ‘Think About It’ drum-break, comes Joe Nice – Baltimore’s ardent ambassador of the UK dubstep movement. Radio-DJ and resident at NYC’s Dubwar parties, Joe Nice has been there from the early days pushing the dubstep sound over the North American airwaves. Distinguished by his upfront selection and skillful mixing, he was the first USA-based DJ to play on RinseFM and at world renowned club nights FWD>> and DMZ’s bi-monthly parties in London. Now he is headed for Melbourne.

Appearing for the first time in Australia, Joe Nice is our very special guest at HEAVY INNIT on Saturday July 11 at The Laundry. Expect two levels of maximum bassweight and a strong dose of dirty glitch-hop, promising six hours of serious electronic damage. Joined by a huge local DJ line-up including Affiks & A13, Riz-One, Dstract, Shikung, Mexi, and Thomas Kilroc; Joe Nice is in great company. Obviously the UKF sound will disappoint some purists, but I'm all for it, love to hear that Bashment vibe putting its stamp on this emerging genre... Funky Bashment? Hell yeah...

I've finally found something new to show for one of the most underrated MCs in the game. You might compare him to some of the skippier, more technical spitters out there but really there's nobody I'm aware of who flows like this. Check out the myspace here. Apparently the Emancipation EP is a lot but I'm having some trouble tracking it down, any help would be appreciated.

This is where I first heard him, featuring on the b-side of Fuda Guy's "Head Gone" released last year, production from the legendary fellow Bristonian Joker.

Nights dont get as rowdy as i'd like to be honest at most nights, but Wobble has gotta take top spot as rowdiest night when things are really moving. Alongside the massive Heartical sound this month we got my boy Loco (UK) spinning so expect bare grime and dubstep bangers as well as the regular nasty behaviour you've come to expect...i'm on a hype for this one!
